Enoteca restaurant has hosted the launch of the third edition of Vívid Festival, a wine-tourism festival in the Costa Brava. The festival, which will take place throughout the month of April at different locations of the Alt Empordà and the Baix Empordà, offers over 75 wine-tourism activities such as: wine-tastings, workshops, talks, vineyard visits and tastings, as well as other leisure activities such as concerts and exhibitions.

Sponsored by the Ruta del Vino DO Empordà Club, under the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, and by the Council of Girona, VÍVID is an initiative to energize and promote the region outside the high tourist season, and to give greater visibility to the world of local wine-making for residents and visitors to the region. Following the success of previous editions, the organizers hope to attract over 5,000 people.

Paco Pérez, chef at Enoteca restaurant and holder of five Michelin stars in total, has been one of the protagonists of the festival launch in his role as ambassador of the Costa Brava. Together with Pere Vila, President of the Council of Girona and of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board; Xavier Albertí, President of the DO (appellation of origin) Empordà Regulatory Board, and Ramon Ramos, Director General of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, he welcomed over 20 gastronomy professionals and journalists at the Enoteca. “If the Empordà had not been created, the world would be missing a piece”, said Paco Pérez at the launch. Pere Vila added “In the Empordà farmers have become tourism entrepreneurs, the Appellation of Origin is enjoying a prime moment and this route has already become a star product”.

The Vívid festival will start on 1 April with a creative cocktail workshop offered by the Garriguella Cooperative and will come to a close with the DO Empordà professional wine trade show, “Arrels del Vi” (“Wine Roots”), on Saturday 30 April at the Born market in Barcelona.
