Paco Pérez, chef of the 2 Michelin starred restaurant Enoteca, supports the fight against cerebral palsy through the ESCLAT association. Under the motto “pro persons with cerebral palsy”, the association’s goal is to improve the lives of people with this disorder by means of a range of activities and therapies.
In order to support this work, chef Paco Pérez participated in a photo session for a charity calendar which will be published by ESCLAT for 2017, coinciding with their 40th anniversary. A meeting at the Enoteca restaurant between Paco Pérez and Dimas, one of the patients affected by cerebral palsy, was the chosen scenario for taking the photos that will be included in the calendar. Thus, Paco Pérez joins a total of 13 chefs who support this campaign, among them Ferrán Adrià, Jordi and Joan Roca, and Carme Ruscalleda.
Following a first edition of the charity calendar in 2015, which focused on the theme of sport with the collaboration of several elite sports players, the ESCLAT association has decided to renew this campaign with a focus on gastronomy and food. The funds raised thanks to the sale of this calendar will be used to finance related activities, such as workshops and special treatments, which are designed to improve the nutrition of people with cerebral palsy and raise awareness about healthy eating habits.
The calendar will be launched on 5 October at the “Roca Gallery” venue in Barcelona and will be available to purchase in a range of bookshops and online on ESCLAT’s website.
